I don't think my cut looked terrible exactly. It was cut back to maybe BSL with long face framing layers. I just found it regretful because if I hadn't done that in high school I would have been able to say my hair has never been shorter than waist. Oh well.
Summer of 2017...after "The Chop."
That haircut wasn't bad at all.
Why do women tend to cut their hair shorter after 40, though?
oh my god, I wish I had some more pictures of my hair in high school. I cut my hair myself from the ages of ~13 until ~18. So many nasty mushroom bobs, hacked pixies, and wacky dye jobs.
For example, here's a haircut I had at about 16. I just grabbed my hair (WITH NO MIRROR) and cut it off as close to my head as possible with thinning shears, the same length all around. This is maybe a month grown out from that point. But I did this to myself several times. Ugh.
And... a recent big chop. This photo was taken a week or two ago. The hairdresser saved me from myself (I'd asked for shorter!) but I still ended up with Mom Hair. Just trying to be patient as it grows out again... :"(

Dollyfish, the new cut is very pretty on you. I actually see more moms running around with longer hair, usually stringing down or in a ponytail, than with a stylish cut like that so you can't call it mom hair.
Is it sad that this thread is actually making me WANT to cut my hair? I must have entered the Mom Zone (but without a cute little kid as an excuse for liking the hair )!
