For me it's the opposite. My fingers always french braid... dutch is a big fail always. If my dutch braid looked like this I would be very, very happy with it.
I always comb a couple of times over my bald spots if I have them in the direction of the braid and they disappear.

I tried the hairstyle of the month (off coiled bun) several times. I think it is safe to say I failed.
