I find that a little oil on my ends delays splittiness. I liked jojoba (from Trader Joe's), but found it a bit pricy; almond was okay but not available at my usual grocery store (I got the culinary-type almond oil at Whole Foods, not the pricier version sold in the cosmetic area); now I'm using olive oil (non-virgin, the cheap stuff) with a little essential oil for scent. I keep most of the bottle in the fridge, I just keep a small amount in the bathroom (I've had rancidity issues in the past when keeping the whole bottle at room temperature for a long while). Some like coconut oil. You might have an oil in the kitchen that you could try. Start small, just a drop or two rubbed on your hands and then run your hands gently through your ends.
