I did something today that I used to do when I was younger... I literally cut the frizz out of my hair. Sounds extreme, but my hair is so bulky that it doesn't show. I know those strands will eventually be shorter than the rest, thus leading to more fuzz, but it really helped. Hair looks much better now! Look at this ball of steel wool... Bleh!

Am I nuts or has anyone else ever done this too?
The company that produces Curl Keeper (Curly Hair Solutions) is based out of Canada, so you hopefully shouldn't have too much trouble tracking it down.

I know it has dimethicone, but I ever so rarely like to use the garnier fructis curl calm down. I hardley ever wear my hair down but it makes it voluminous and defined. Cones are a drawback, but so far no damage, and I do watch for it like crazy.
Thank you for congratulating me! I am SO excited to seee if these good results get even better and STAY that way! I HOPE so....

For those of you who were mentioning aloe gel... think this one would be good? It has to be food grade right?

I'm sure this would be fine, but I just use pure clear aloe from the sunburn section in Walmart, it doesn't have to be food grade at all, only if you want it to be.

That's fine. Doesn't have to be food grade. Your just looking for the clear, without lidocaine and glycerin's so as not to compound your frizz factor.

Ok so look for the clear stuff then? No lidocaine or glycerin. Got it.

Ya. That's kinda why I was asking if you have access to Walmart b/c the FOTE brand is around $3 USD. Trying to save ya some $ & especially if it doesn't work for you. Reasons why I personally like it:

-Cheap & availability w/out ordering & shipping fees.
-Very light hold & doesn't cause tangles.
    -helps a ton W/frizz.
-No wet look and I don't have to scrunch out the crunch.
    -Just natural.
    -Easy to mix w/oils.

    Hope that helps

Store-bought aloe gel always makes my hair dry and straw-like for some reason. I've been making aloe-pectin gelly with liquid aloe (adding agave nectar, honey or molasses and sometime a bit of argan oil or jojoba) and it works like a (cheap) charm. It's very similar to Kinky Curly Curling Custard and Uncle Funky's Daughter Curly Magic (my new fave, but $$$). I really like homemade flaxseed gel, too, but it leaves my hair flatter, although softer. All of these things control frizz very well, but define curls and give varying degrees of hold.

Ooooh you must share your recipe!! I'm intrigued!! I like flax seed gel too, but I don't like having to refrigerate, especially when travelling.
