    Default Newly henna'ed hair!

I'm so excited, I just rinsed the henna out of my hair and dried it! Some pictures:
    and for comparison:

I know it'll darken a little bit over the next couple days, but I can't believe that I got almost exactly the color I was looking for!

The recipe I used was 50 g henna (I used the Jamila henna from Henna Sooq), 30 g finely ground coffee, and about 15 g indigo (I did 20 originally, and then as I was mixing it in with the henna last minute, I freaked out and didn't put some of it in...lol). I added about 5 g of cinnamon, a splash of vanilla extract, and 3 tsp olive oil. Dang, with the coffee, cinnamon, and vanilla, I smell like a latte! It's AWESOME.

Anyways, I don't think I'll ever go back to my natural hair color, I like this too much. Here's hoping Dad doesn't flip out when he notices (if he notices) since he believes hair dying is a sin of some sorts. Oh well....

It's beautiful! And if Dad says anything, just tell him that you used a very old, traditional, herbal hair treatment that strengthens hair and makes it healthier. It just happens to add some reddish tones while it's at it!

Wow, I like it very much. Your hair is shiny and the color looks very nice with your skin tone. I admit I love blonette/brownette hair too, so I like your before picture as well, but the henna really packs some punch on your hair.

Funny thing is he didn't even notice it last night. That may have been because I'd tied a scarf around my head, but it's also darkened quite a bit to an auburn that isn't much different than my original color. If he notices at all, I can bring up the fact that Esther probably used henna.

It looks great! Who cares if your dad doesn't like it, it is your hair
ETA, who is Esther, a relative?

Esther in the Bible...she married the King of Persia way back then. Both Biblical and historical evidence suggests that she probably used henna, if not in her hair, than as body art, and possibly as a lip, cheek, and nail stain. Hurrah for ancient Persian beauty treatments! xD
