    Question Clarifying shampoo?

    Hi you all!
I'm kind of a newbie here, and I'm still learning lots!

Well, I'll get right into it! I kind of have a problem finding a clarifying shampoo... It might be really obvious, but here in Sweden it doesn't say "clarifying" on any of the bottles which I think makes it kind of hard So are there any special ingredients I should look for on the bottle or any I should stay away from?

    I'm grateful for any answers

I'm not sure if you can get Neutrogena Anti-Residue shampoo in Sweden, but that's a good one. You can also just use any shampoo that has ammonium lauryl sulfate in it... I find that pretty drying though. I can usually get away with a regular sodium lauryl sulfate shampoo when I want a good clarifying.

I don't really know what types of shampoo are available here either

But basically it's just any regular shampoo with sulfates?

Yes, I believe that's the general idea.... when clarifying, use the stuff we normally avoid! ALS is the harshest and most stripping; you may need that if you use a lot of products for styling/shine etc. SLS is a little gentler but still does the trick-- at least for me, but I don't really use any other products on my hair.

I'm sure others will chime in with opinions, too.

lockig.se. There's a list of shampoos which remove all buildup.
Though that website is very aimed at CO washing.

Thanks for making it clear for me!
But I think I'll stay away from ALS since I don't use any styling products.

I found that website a while ago, and I've actually been thinking about trying CO, but it's probably best to make an easy transition and do both CO and CWC for a while But that list definitely makes it a lot easier.

Now my only trouble will be finding a SLS-free shampoo

    Try this link: http://www.exnaturalproducts.com/hai...erbal-shampoo/
I hope it works. This shampoo has ALS in it and not too many extra ingredients. As near as I can tell, it's sold in Sweden.

You don't need to buy a special clarifying shampoo. You could use any shampoo you've got, put about 2 tbs into a bowl and add some baking soda to it. I'm sure you have some home. You can add 1-2 tbs. After you clarified with this, and washed it out of your hair, I advice you to dilute 1 tbs white vinegar/lemon juice/ apple cider vinegar (either one) in 2 cups of water, and rinse with it. This will restore the optimal pH of your hair. You can rinse it out or leave it in. I usually rinse it out with cold water. It gives great shine.

How cool is that! I'm learning Swedish, so maybe I'll sign up one day.
