I'm a reformed Baptist Christian and don't believe the Bible makes demands about how to keep my hair, besides generally to care for my body, it being God's temple. However I like covering my hair, growing it long, wearing headscarves etc, in the fashion of Islam or "modest" Christian sects, among other reasons because I do have strong religious beliefs that I'd love to talk to people about if they asked about my hair (even though the strong beliefs aren't actually about hair!). Is that a religious reason? I do also like old things and having a connection with the past. I also have far more mundane reasons for growing my hair such as saving money and time on haircuts or thinking about how to style my hair, but still having something to make fancy updos with on the rare occasion it's actually required.
