If you haven't noticed it, then it probably doesn't. I also have my Dad's fine straight hair, rather than my mother's thicker, wavier hair.

Amanda_the_tall, I have very thin hair with increasing patches where my scalp is showing through badly, and a friend on LHC recommended a product called Shabo Cosmetics. It's a scalp makeup powder that is available in a large variety of colors that can be blended to make the perfect match for your hair. The company was founded by a lady named Bonnie who has Alopecia herself. She will send you free samples of the powders and a little scoop and cup you can use to mix up more than one color to come up with the blend that is the best match for you. I put this product on after my hair dries after each time I wash it, and it stays on until the next time I shampoo it, even though I have been able to stretch washes and only wash my hair twice per week now. As a result, the powder is lasting me a very long time. I'll get the link for you and post it here.

I'm still getting through this entire thread...but I'm subscribing and wanted to say hello!

I'm one of those fine hairs who was told I should never try fof long hair since it's both fine and thin...but then j had the same realization that a lot of you had; "it's fine and thin either way, might as well be long." I'm trying stuff to try to thicken my hair but I think a big contributor has been to stop all heat and baby my hair. (Although egg washes, castir oil, henna, and a really good diet are certainly helping.) I just can't wait for all the new growth to catch up to the rest!

Also, I'm totally jealous of all the hair toys I'm seeing! Now my ingredient addiction is going to expand into a hair toy addiction as well! Ah!

Hi AlexDig, I 100% sympathize with the 'you shouldn't grow it long' statement. But then again I am somewhat defiant lol. Welcome to the thread!
