Monistat... dare we start this again

I am using Daktarin and I have read on the web that maybe it was not as efficient as Monistat. I really hope they are wrong. I'm almost over my 2nd week....

^ I doubt it, they both have miconazole nitrate as their active ingredient.

From what I've read on this thread, Daktarin is just as effective. The only problem is that it is only 2%.

It's called "Daktar" here, but it could possibly be the same. It's from McNeil. There is also a Swedish brand available here that has a very similar cream simply called Mikonazol CCS, and I think the ingredients are the same. Unfortunately both brands contain mineral oil so it has left my roots a bit greasy. But I think I can stand that for a month while trying if it has any effect on my growth.

Hi everyone, I am finishing my 2nd week, no big change, as my impatient self I just wish I could go to bed and have it BSL like tomorrow morning....

I have a question : Is it ok doing Henna while on a MN cure? Or will MN discolor the henna on the roots or damage it, or make it go away? Thanks for your answer! I want to do a flamboyant red.

I've been using monistat 4% for 1 week now. Last month my hair grew 1/2" (pretty typical). This week my hair grew 1/4"!!!!!!

Maybe this was a fluke and next week my hair won't grow at all. But if this keeps up, I'll get an inch of growth in one month. I'm so excited that this seems to be working. So far I've just had some very light headaches. I can deal with that.

If you wash your scalp prior to applying the henna, you should have no problems. You might consider waiting two or three days before applying the monistat again though just in case you are worried about it interfering with the oxidizing process. But once henna is on, it is on!

I was considering trying this but I am scared , I read that some people loose a lot of hair and my is pretty thin already but extra growth sure would help.

Ugh... I am out after only one application. I got a really itchy scalp from the cream and greasy-looking roots, which shows up so much on my hair. I can't go through that a whole month, so I hope that Spring will speed up my growth. (Although it never seems to.)
