Phally, your hair looks so much darker since I remember! And so much longer! Beautiful!
It is because of the lighting. Siggy pic was taken at night inside with flash, the avatar was taken on a very cloudy gloomy day.

Here's a pic of my hair in plain daylight (waves are from wet french braiding):

Beautiful photo, Phally! I love how our hair changes color so much. We're like chameleons!

Indigo Girl, I can see myself in your hair like in a mirror. SO silky!

My hair is silky but not straight. I am not 2a/2b already as my hair is longer=heavier and more healthy=smoother, I have just notice that. But I am not exactly"straight".

May I join? I would be so honoured...

Been gone for a few days and I am glad this thread got revived. I am definitely ambivalent about my fine, straight hair. Some days I love it, some days I hate it.

Working on going cone-free (using up product) and wondering if that will help the volume and not make it look so flat.

Straight haired girl checking in! My hair won't curl no matter what. I once slept in hair rags - woke up with my BSL hair tickling my chin in Shirley Temple curls - by lunch my hair was straight, with the slightest wave.

My mother got a perm as a teen, and it lasted three days!

    I'm also straight haired! *forever*
Tried to perm my hair some years ago but it disappeared over night except for ONE wave on the back of my head where my hair was damaged Happy those days are over..

Quats aren't discussed much on LHC, but I've found they make quite a bit of difference in my hair, especially compared with cones.
haibane, this is very interesting. I need to do some research about quats. Are there any "cons" about quats as there are about cones?

Me too! It's hard to find any useful info. I read on one of those beauty expert blogs that quats can build up and be hard to wash out, similar to cones. So I've been careful not to overdo it.
On the other hand, I haven't noticed any buildup, and when I use the quat-heavy conditioner as a leave in, i can feel it coming off on my hands when i fingercomb, so I don't think it sticks all that hard.

From what I've found so far from looking at
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quaternary_ammonium_cation
one of those -onium chloride type quats is in every one of my conditioners, even the hypoallergenic unscented ones.
But the Quaternium-## or Polyquaternium-## quats seem heavier than the -onium chloride type quats.

The one shampoo I found with Polyquaternium-10 makes the most difference. It coats the hair very similar to dimethicone, but my hair comes out much less stringy and "gooey" than it gets with cones. The hairs seem more separated, smooth and silky.

Can you tell I'm happy with the quats?
YMMV of course, my hair seem to love any kind of coating. Helps keeping it from breaking and splitting.
