I've been using it for three weeks now and it's been working really well, but I can't say what the long term effects will be. I didn't vote in your poll.

ETA: I just realized I have to vote for the cheese to be able to see the results...
Sorry, I didn't know that you had to reply to be able to view results.

I didn't know what to answer for the poll. It was plus/minus for me.
    Plus: very shiny, less frizz.
Minus: needed to be washed again the very next day

So I stick with CWC/diluted shampoo. I don't have to wash until the 4th day with this routine.
spidermom, sorry, i should have put an "other" option

Thank you so much for your input, ladies! I am trying oil shampoo (have tried 3 times), and didn't saw any difference, so wanted to see how everyone else was doing.

The buildup got to me. This was before I knew about clarifying and what not. I was using some olive oil shampoo. It worked great the first time. By the third wash it was just a greasy mess. It worked great for DH but the little bottle was EXPENSIVE. Never bothered with it again.

It's okay, it's the same with all polls. I doubt you could change it. I guess that's why there's nearly always the option.

Absolutely didn't work for me, ever. I was told I needed to clarify more, clarified my hair to within an inch of its life, and it just went from bad to worse. The tangles were awful.

I regret trying it, I regret spending as much time and effort as I did with it, and I regret the damage it caused.

I did it the first time with the wrong shampoo and got great results, shiny and full of body...then I did it with the right shampoo's and got less than great results...eventually, after many months and many different shampoo's/ratio's (even trying the "wrong" shampoo's again), I gave it up.

Also, I like using conditioner... I feel my hair needs it and while doing the oil shampoo I avoided it so I wouldn't add coatings/ buildup and my hair was starting to look dry and rough ( although it didn't feel dry/rough to the touch, it was soft) and it didn't look smooth and shiny like it did before the oil shampoo..so I went back to my old routine. I occasionally still add coconut oil to my shampoo but I condition afterward.

This worked fantastic for me. I never had to clarify first and my hair was full of body and looked thick. It was nice to not use conditioner but after a while my ends got really dried out. I needed to offset it with regular SMTs. Now I think shampooing the roots and conditioning just the ends may be more ideal. I still do the oil shampoo method. It's just that it didn't work for my hair to always do this method only. The same goes for CO washing. It works great for me but if I keep doing it my hair goes limp.

I need a "like" button for this. I might try mixing oil in my shampoo again but I would never ever go without conditioner again and I would never stick to the list of recommended shampoos. I keep getting sucked in to the latest LHC fads. Next time one comes around I need to remind myself of the Shampoil Fiasco and just say no.

Oh, I can go without conditioner just fine. Just not if I'm using shampoo. That's when the damage starts.

I just add one or two capfuls of olive oil to my shampoo & conditioner. It makes your hair soft.
And I think it helps promte hair growth. Also adding some aloe vera to your conditioner makes
your hair baby soft. And I think it also promtes hair growth.

At first I loved it, my hair was very soft and shiny. After about a month, I started noticing lots of splits and stopped using it.
