I love home made flax gel, but needing to be refrigerated and going bad too quick got old for me. If I only wash my hair once a week its bad before I get use it again.

Do you have access to a freezer? You can freeze it in ice cube trays and just take them out as you need them. (I can’t remember who told me that, someone here on the forum, but it works beautifully.)

That ice tray idea for flax gel is a great idea!

Myself, when my hair is long enough for the waves to be present, I would scrunch in some alcohol-free gel when my hair was still wet or damp after the shower then let it air-dry and scrunch out the crunch. For a softer look, a sea-salt spray can encourage waves but I think they can be damaging over time. And condition, condition, condition.
