StellaKatherine, it's longer than mine! And looks quite nice, no worries!

Thanks to Madora for telling me about the Flutterby, a variation of her signature look for shorter hair. I need some practice, but it's not bad for a first try:

When you're used to your unbraided length, braids feels short very often. When I started fencing, I began to hold my braid behind my back* and when I realized where it was, I was just : really ?!? I was so disapointed !

    * We have to keep an arm behind us, nothing must be an obstacle between the swords and my armor, and it's safer for the hair...

Actually i always have my hair in a braid, but i never actually look at it. Never meassure, and just let it be. I guess i am most dissapointed when i see how thin it looks, somehow it feels thicker when i braid it and then look at photo and think, oh my gosh , that is so super thin i need to change to " i " on my profile hehe And yeah it looks shorter when on the photo ^^

Yeah, it' weird how what you feel and what you see never seem to match. My braids feel thicker than they look. But for some reason, my updos feel smaller than they look! Who knows?

Yeah that is why i think it is good to see some photos of ourselves times to times. I think my hairdoes look kinda good in photos and i think i will be doing more of the fishbone braids than normal ones from now on, as they make braid look bigger than it is.

StellaKatherine, I think we're braid twins!

Heh, ingvild, I meant to say that I don't really have any tips for getting a neat start to English braids since I usually have to do it more than once to get it to look decent, but I saw your picture and you clearly don't need any tips - gorgeous!

    moxamoll, I love the flutterby!

    Hello everybody!
I am pretty new here, but this is a thread for me. =) I really love long braids. They are so simple, but with a lot of length they look gorgeous.

    I want to contribute mine:
It is a bit, hm, thin? I know. But I like it anyway.

And one of my best 5-strand-braids. But the pictures below were taken when my hair was thicker.

Lovely, lovely braids Mai Gloeckchen! I haven't had the courage to try French box or 4/5 strand braids. But yours are definitely an inspiration!
