Are the bristles hard plastic? Is it hard to hold? (Curry combs and things often have a little strap to slip your hand into...)

Doesn't anyone carry this in the U.S.?

I'm pretty clumsy and I can hold onto it quite easily. It has an unusual shape that fits the hand very nicely. The plastic bristles are flexible so they don't get caught in the hair at all. I have only found them in England and asked Sally's if they will ever carry them. They said no.

Thank you, CopperHead. I'm going to try to pretend like I never saw this thread, but I suspect that it will continue to haunt me until I buy one.

Well, mine came today, but I'm afraid so far I don't 'get' it. The pins are a lot shorter than I was expecting and it just doesn't go anywhere close to penetrating my hair. It got some tangles out, but was not any more or less effective (or faster) than my usual wide-tooth comb.
So many LHC'ers can't be wrong - it must be me! I so needed this to work... any suggestions?

Well I still brush with my usual comb and then use the TT for scalp massage, but that's more brush paranoia than anything else. Maybe if you section your hair before brushing with the TT?

You guys are such a bad influence. I am mentally trying to convence myself to buy one for my mom for Christmas so I can have one too!

The first time I tried it on my hair--I was undecided. Now I'm sold. I still work from the bottom up, in sections--it's just that it does the detangling faster than a regular brush. My hair is really thick. On my daughter's thin hair--the detangling was much more dramatic!! i mostly bought it for my daughter to avoid our morning detangling tears.

I like the TT for me because it shines the hair and massages the scalp. I frequently brush my hair (it's straight), so I guess if you're a comber, maybe you just need to get used to it. Try it again! You must love it--just kidding

Excellent! Thank you for the info Loviatar! I think my dad would like one. I would get him a black one, though.
