My sister's hair I hennaed last week:

I think it's gorgeous even if she did loose her tight ringleted curls. Yup she had naturally super curly hair before the henna... and now it's like loosely curly/wavy.

I should say it's Punjabi Prime. Mixed only with warm/hot water and a splash of lemon juice. Left in for 3ish hours, over dark chestnut brown hair (that had previously been highlighted with a cherrywood red).

I didn't do my whole head, I have streaks. However here is a picture of my hair close up, you can see a streak part and the natural color part together. That is the best I have

No I did not lighten beforehand, but the colour is more like the crown area than the lower length. I will try to take a pic in sunlight this weekend for you. This pic was taken at night in my bathroom. In strong lighting, it looks flaming orange; in indoor regular lighting, it's conkery-red.

This is a better shot.
