Default A little experiment.... Honey lightening with cornstarch

    Hi.
So the main problem I have with honey lightening is I can get the mixture to actually stay on my hair. Even if I wear a shower cap it just pools in the bottom of the cap.
So I made my usual mixture of one tablespoon of honey, mixed with 1 cup of water with a teaspoon of cardamom but I added 2 tablespoons of cornstarch to thicken it. I'm going to use this as a paste and put it on my hair for a couple of hours or so , but I also made another batch (except 1 tsp of coconut oil instead of cardamom ) and I'll spray it onto my hair every 15 mins or so to keep the mixture wet.

Anyway I'll let you know if this works!

Ok, I couldn't see any difference with the cornstarch, but it is easy to wash out which was a surprise....

The cornstarch will thicken if you boil it with the water. I used to do that when I hennaed my hair to keep it from running. Nowdays I dye my hair with a diluted directions dye. To make it thicker I use guar gum which will thicken quickly even I cold water.
