The name Cassia obovata is rather old and outdated. The current classification for the plant is Senna italica. You want laxative, not cinnamon.
- Went to Baldwins in London today and bought 25 grams of cassia, it says it is cassia bark and on the package it says:
Cassia Bark
Cinnamomum aromaticum
also it's brown and in big chunks . . has anyone else grounded this up themselves and used as cassia ? I read online it would be a green powder but it's brown bark . . will it still work ?
