Question Hair forks: how many prongs are optimal for you?

How many prongs work best on your hair and why? If you use many hair forks, which do you use most often?

    Thank you!

Right now I really like the grippyness (word?) of 4 prongs, with honorable mention to 5 prong jeters. I LOOVE the esthetic of long skinny 2 prongs - like the Emily 30th streets - or the chunky grace of GTS mermaids, BUT neither of those hold my hair like 4 prongs at the moment.

It's safe to say, I don't care for 3 prong forks much. They seem to disappear for me - neither a statement like bigger forks, nor elegant like narrower ones. But who who am I to talk, my hair is only 20" long and I have many years of fork wearing a head of me...

I've only tried two and three. Both work quite well but I've become fairly good at engineering a bun to suite the toy in hand.

Like Neko_kawaii, I've only had experience with two and three prong and I like the 3 prong better. For me it feels more snug. Four prongs look huge to me! But I'd give it a try if the right fork came along.

i don't have to wrap my hair tightly to get a 4 prong to work for me. less tension = less headaches, so that's what I go with. I agree, the 2 prongs look very elegant, but i have to re-wrap the bun often. I'm basically lazy, so the less effort it takes, the happier I am

I've tried three and four prong forks. I seem to always reach for the three prongs, the four prong one doesn't get much use. But then again, my four prong is an acrylic and my others are wood which I find more appealing. I don't think I'd like a two prong because it wouldn't give me enough stability but I won't condemn it because I haven't tried.

What a well timed thread for me. I've been pondering trying a three or four prong fork for the first time, but I am struggling with the decision as to which would be more secure and what the pros and cons might be.

Isn't anyone else going to chime in? I was looking forward to more data and experiences since Meteor so conveniently posed the question that was in my mind too.

I have two, three, and four prong forks. I wear them ALL for different buns, so its really hard to say! I wear two prong slim forks (60th street) to give my slippery hair a bit more hold in wrap buns where you'd usually use a stick. I don't use them for cinnabuns or anything like that - they're not stable enough.

And I guess of the others, I prefer three prongs. They are more versatile for me, being able to use them in many different buns, whereas the four prongs are wider and I can really only use them in a couple of ways (great for French twists though!)

I can easily use two, three or four pronged forks for different things, but voted four because my favourite hold is from four-pronged jeterforks.
