I rarely come out of the "back rooms" and read the threads here, but I'm so glad I did, because I found this one! What fun! I am completely up-do challenged. I think I might like to give this a try, if it's alright with y'all. I can do a rope braid, regular braid and a french braid. Plus, I use the Topsy Tail from time to time. That's about it.

    Hi Sidani - Welcome
Since you know to rope-braid, could you do the Double Rose Bun?

Diamondbell, I'd love to see a 4-strand rope braid in your hair.

Thank you for the comments, mira-chan, sahiba and Teazel.
I was a bit trying to follow the instructions, and then I was when I saw what I'd ended up with!

ETA: Ooops, forgot to say 'thank you' to Teazel for the French Braid challenge. Honestly!
I need to bite the bullet and just do it.

Good gracious, AprilElf! That's one awesome style! Oh and happy new year to you all! I guess I'll have to get to doing a regular bun eventually because I believe that was asked of me. It's late though. I need to have a little sweet sweet unconscious action before I feel energized enough.

Diamondbell, thank you for the warm welcome and the hair challenge! You have great faith in me. I don't even know what a rose bun is. Told you I'm up-do challenged. I'm searching for directions for the rose bun, then I will give this a shot.

AprilElf, I would love to have your hair! Your styles are always so awesome. You have so much hair and it's so shiny and healthy and you can do so many cool, creative things with it, it's like an artist's palette.

Thanks so much for your comments Gumball and Sidani!

And now ... French Braid success!

If not for this thread, who knows if I'd ever have come to like this style. So thanks again for the challenge, Teazel. I need more practice, but now I have more confidence with the French braid.

AprilElf your three bun updo and the french braid are gorgeous. So I think you have mastered all the updos now?

I will need some time for that four-strand rope braid! :

Yay, April, I knew you could do it! That's one neat and tidy french braid; I'm not sure if you could improve upon it with more practice.
From Hip to Ankle and now back to Hip again.

Thanks Diamondbell and Teazel. With practice I'll be able to do it much faster and with less 'panic'.

I hate to say it, but there is one very well known bun I haven't done, and I've been waiting for someone to bring it up in this thread. I'm not going to give any more clues as to what it is ...
I'm secretly hoping no one guesses it!

Teazel, could you do this style?:
(Sorry, no link.) It's a kind of half-up. Braid each side of your 'front hair' around to the back of your head, At the crown, or just below, combine the two braids into one and braid to end.
    Does that make sense?

Hehe, everyone's going to be combing through your hair album to see what's missing, now.

I think I understand your instructions. The 'back hair' is left loose, is it?
From Hip to Ankle and now back to Hip again.
