OMG thanks.
Re: What does ACV do to your hair?
I love how ACV kind of "clarifies" my hair a little bit and makes my shampoo and conditioner work its magic again. Anybody else experience this effect?

So which ratio would be best to use, then? I have no idea, from looking at this.

Here earthnut says what ratio she uses and explains what ratios hair likes:

Re: What does ACV do to your hair?
I currently use 1 tsp of ACV in 1 cup and a half. So the pH is probably between 4.2 and 4.5, I think.
I rinse out a bit because in my case the ACV smell lingers after hair is dry.
Re: What does ACV do to your hair?
When I used it, it made my hair super soft and bouncy but the smell is so bad! I made the mistake of adding rosemary to it and came up with a very bad smell! maybe I didn't use enough water?
Re: What does ACV do to your hair?
I use ACV regularly, I do not enjoy the smell but my hair has way way way less frizz and more shine. Im very happy with how my hair looks with ACV incorporated.
If some of you really do not like the smell you can maybe try citric acid powder instead.
Re: What does ACV do to your hair?
I usually use white vinegar, it smells better and doesn't linger even without rinsing on my hair. I have tried all kinds of vinegars over the years. When I had red hair, red wine vinegar was my favourite. All the vinegars have same effects on my hair and scalp. Vinegar doesn't seem to do much to my hair to be honest, but my scalp likes it - that's usually when I remember vinegar when my scalp is irritated - and sometimes I just enjoy some hair pampering with many steps and kitchen ingredients. My tap water is pretty alkaline and soft, and I like my vinegar rinses a bit stronger than many. Typical is one-two tablespoons (or corkfulls if I'm lazy) in 200 ml squirt bottle, leaving room for shaking, so I guess I have about 170 ml or so water in there. I sometimes add a drop of essential oil, more for it's aromatherapy effects than to camouflage the smell. I have used much stronger rinses too with no ill effects that I can notice (I did super strong rinses before LHC, wouldn't do those anymore, but again I saw no ill effects then). Milder rinses don't do anything for my hair or scalp. Once when I did stronger than normal rinse some years ago (stronger than I had done in years, since my hair type change) and I noticed it made my wiry hairs really wild. :D
I have also used vinegar as pre-shampoo scalp treatment, that's where I notice it's effects the most. And I have used it as a base for aromatherapy essential oil blend.
I don't remember vinegar rinses ever making my hair greasier (not even when it was super oily, slippery F type), but I have oily hair to begin with which I wash almost daily. However I have read about this effect often, so it seems like some people are more prone to it than others.
Re: What does ACV do to your hair?
I only used ACV once and I don't believe it had an effect on my hair, besides the smell that lasted even a couple of days after the wash...
