Are my flexi-8s too small?
A friend kindly ordered some Flexi-8s for me from the US. I think I have the smallest and the next smallest, as these were recommended for my hair type and length. However, I seem to have already "broken" (bent) the smallest one trying to use it for a half-up, and have been using the bigger one for a half up (when it is supposed to hold ALL my hair?!?) all day today, hat/hood on and off, without it falling out.
How do I know which sizes I have so I can possibly order bigger ones next time?
How do I know which sizes "really" work for my (fine, slippery, thin-at-the-ends-thick-at the-roots) hair?
thankee!

Hello Katze! You can order them from their website http://www.flexi8.com/ They do ship internationally. A couple of months ago I bought two and it cost me (Spain) 7.00 dollars.
Maybe you can try with the medium size. I use it for ponytails only, and for the updos I use the large.
Kisses

It tells the sizes on the website and what the inches correspond with.
Re: Are my flexi-8s too small?
I'm glad you said something because I have been drooling over them for a week now- trying to decide between a medium and a large- I think I need to go with the large, because based on your experience, it sounds like they aren't as true to size as they say they are.

The size of a flexi is embossed at the tip of the pin.

It is hard to tell what size really works until you try it on.
Large is good for a french twist for me. Too small for a bun.
I can use medium for a french twist, but quite tight. Great for securing a drop bun.
Medium slips off from a pony tail.
ETA: My pony circumference is 7 cm at the base.
Re: Are my flexi-8s too small?
I use the Small for putting my hair half up, Meduim for a pony tail, and Large for anything that involves twisting.

On their website, they list stick length for each size. Compare those to the stick lengths of the ones you've got.
In case anyone is comparing, I have 2.375" pony circumference and the extra-small works for my ponytail. I first got the small for it and it was too big for that, so I turned it inside out (so now the cross-section profile looks like a crescent instead of a fish) and now it also fits.
Edit: just saw Akiko's post. Wow! I've never noticed that! I wonder what its says on the mini.
Re: Are my flexi-8s too small?
I donīt have anything helpful to add, but wanted to congratulate you on having hairtoys that are to small. :cheese::D
Re: Are my flexi-8s too small?
My hair is a low ii and a small holds it in a perfect ponytail. The medium does a good french twist. Those are the only sizes I own. If you have a mini and an extra small, they probably won't do much but half-ups and holding pieces back.
Re: Are my flexi-8s too small?
At 2.5" circumference, I use a mini for half-ups and an extra small for ponies. Mediums are pretty much useless. I use larges for buns, but think I might need an XL soon.
