Re: The much-recommended SMT (Snowymoon's Moisture Treatment)
Can I use the Aloe Vera straight from the plant itself? I would imagine this would be the best thing to do?
Re: The much-recommended SMT (Snowymoon's Moisture Treatment)
I just tried the SMT and used real aloe vera gel from my aloe plant I keep in my back yard and it worked beautifully. It is gooey and messy to squeeze and scrape the gel out but being 100% natural is bound to have a better moisturizing effect on the hair.
I used Miessence Shine Herbal conditioner (non cone) and Jarrah honey from Western Australia (medicinal quality- I'm sure any unprocessed honey would do the same) and my hair felt divine afterwards ! :thumbsup:Will definitely repeat on a regular basis.

That's good info, Pony Girl! I need to get another aloe plant.
Re: The much-recommended SMT (Snowymoon's Moisture Treatment)
I have done this too, yesterday, and it worked really well for me.
Re: The much-recommended SMT (Snowymoon's Moisture Treatment)
I did an SMT swapping Black Strap Mollasses for Honey and my hair is so grateful that it is soft and shiny!
Re: The much-recommended SMT (Snowymoon's Moisture Treatment)
I've done this two times now, and I love the results.
But...
I really hate the smell of the aloe vera gel I have. According to the label it's 99,7% pure cold pressed aloe vera. (The conditioner I'm using does not much of a smell of it's own.)
Next time I might try to add some essential oil.
Anyone have the same experience?

Mine is 98% pure, but I love the smell. It does have a strong smell though.
Re: The much-recommended SMT (Snowymoon's Moisture Treatment)
I am definitely trying this after I colour next.

Well I hate the smell of the honey! And my conditioner practically has no smell. Can you put nice-smelling stuff into an SMT without having it do bizarre things to your hair?
Re: The much-recommended SMT (Snowymoon's Moisture Treatment)
I am going to give this a try, thanks!
