henna sealing in vegetable dye?
I've got a question - probably a very silly one...but I'll ask anyway!
I have some residual black Manic Panic on my hair right now, it's coming out (which is what I want, I want it all to be gone), but very slowly. I'm itching to put some henna on my hair, but I'm afraid that putting henna on my hair somehow might "lock in" the manic panic...sort of seal it in or whatever.
Do you think this is unfounded - or will the penetrative and coating effects of henna actually perma-seal in the Manic Panic?
Re: henna sealing in vegetable dye?
The henna doesn't seal the shaft of hair, that is a huge misconception. Eventually, the manic panic will wash out even if you do henna.
Why not mix up a mixture of honey and baby shampoo and put it on your hair for a few hours? it'll pull out quite a bit of the manic panic. You'll want to deep condition after though.

Thanks for the reply, akurah!
I will mix up a batch of honey and baby shampoo tomorrow. This darn stuff doesn't want to completely come out...
Re: henna sealing in vegetable dye?
Not an entirely unfounded concern... my roomie dyed over dep. only purple with a boxed brown dye and turned her hair (permanently) deep violet...
Luckily she liked it!
