View Full Version : Recoil recipe for curly hair? Catladyintown March 14th, 2008, 12:42 PM Hello curly heads. Does anyone have a recoil recipe that is all natural? Or any conditioner recipe. Actually any recipe for curly hair that is all natural. Thanks for your help.:) Catladyintown Mahars March 15th, 2008, 08:12 AM I think some folks use aloe as hair gel. I haven't tried it yet, but I keep meaning to. That's about all I know, but hopefully someone will come along with more ideas. darkwaves March 15th, 2008, 08:32 AM If my hair is happy and behaving itself, just a tiny bit of jojoba oil will help the curls. If it's not behaving, nothing natural will work. (But I'm not sure what you're looking for? What I want is something just to keep the tendrils from frizzing out, which may not be where you're going.) Catladyintown March 15th, 2008, 09:11 AM Thanks Mahars and darkwaves. I did not know that aloe Vera can help in recoil. I have stretched out curls because of the length. And now I am trying to appreciated my curls instead of abusing them. I am trying to make something like Jessiecurl products at home. I make my own conditioner for the hair. But now trying to make a natural recoil to bring bounce back into my hair. Hope that makes since. http://www.jessicurl.com/Products-p-1.html Curlsgirl April 28th, 2008, 08:32 PM So do you mean to help hold the curl or help it actually curl more? Or something else? Not that I know of anything LOL! For frizz coconut oil smoothed over the canopy while damp helps me the most of any natural product. Aloe gel does nothing I can see at all on my hair at least. Catladyintown April 28th, 2008, 09:46 PM Hi Curlsgirl I was hoping make my curls actually curl more. So far no luck on finding a homemade recipe to make. jessie58 April 28th, 2008, 10:14 PM Catlady, your siggy pic is so pretty. I know that some people make and use their own flax seed gel. I'm not sure how it works for curl hold though. I have seen some recipes here for it and have yet to try it myself but have tons of flax seeds around. It's really easy to make. Maybe if you can find the flaxseed gel threads, you might get some idea of if it will hold curls. jessie58 April 28th, 2008, 10:16 PM I just thought of this too. Is your hair normaly culier than your siggy? I found that when my hair lost its curl, I had to use baking soda to clarify and then an ACV rinse and then the curl would be revived. Catladyintown April 28th, 2008, 11:25 PM Thank you Jessie58. My hair is naturally curly. When I was around BSL the curls were very curly. Now since my hair is getting longer that curls are going. I have tried Flax Seed gel but it left my hair with alot of dry flakes on the hair and scalp.:( jessie58 April 29th, 2008, 08:38 AM Thank you Jessie58. I don't want any flaky gel in my hair. My hair has lost its curl too. I hate that. |
