I purchased a bee pollen supplement. I really just bought it for energy and as a vitamin supplement, but does it have any known benefits for the hair?

I've never heard of this, but I'm curious to know if it helps your energy levels and, of course, your hair!

I've never tried bee pollen, so don't know if it works for hair, but just wanted to say be cautious if you are prone to allergies. :)
And be aware that much of the time these super-remedies are just a way of getting money out of you... or maybe I'm just a suspicious creature. ;) http://www.quackwatch.com/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/DSH/bee.html
Still, I'd be intrigued if it actually does work... let us know :)

I think the kelp may be helping some. I haven't noticed any significant growth. I have only been taking it for a few weeks though so maybe it takes a little while. How is it working for you?

I took bee pollen awhile ago when I was in high school to help with energy. I didn't have any allergies then, but yes, I agree, people need to make sure that they aren't allergic before consuming.
Thanks for the article! I'm about to read it now. :)

Hmm I'm not sure. I have been having some strange dreams lately but that might just be me! Some people say kelp keeps them from sleeping at night and that you are supposed to take it at least 6 hours before going to sleep. I usually take mine at lunch.

I take bee pollen every once in a while and I think it definitely improves the quality of my skin -- I think it looks more glowy and less shiny -- but I don't know if it helps with hair growth because I wasn't trying to grow my hair long when I was taking it. I just ordered a new jar the other day so I will let you know if I see any benefit!

In a German forum there was quite a farve about bee pollen and some swore it made their hair grow much faster. I'm really allergic to pollen so I had no intention to try it out. Some reportet that the stuff tasted nasty and they had to put it in cocoa or other sweet tasting stuff to mask the pollen taste.

I have some in my fridge but i havent been taking it becasue of the taste. Ive tried it in various smoothies, soy yogurt, and in a spoon of honey and just cant find a way to hide it. Anyone else have any ideas? I might try mixing it in carob powder for hot "coco" if i find one my body will tolerate. Yeah for thos of you who have been following im now unable to tollerate chocolate and carob is going over iffy :(. I cant wait to hear peoples results!

I have some bee pollen that I've occasionally added to green smoothies. I only added it in tiny amounts, so I didn't notice a taste from it. I also haven't used it enough to know if has any benefit to my hair. I'd be curious to know the results that others have had from it.

How much do you add to your smoothies? I was reading around a tsp is the norm but I'm not sure about it:confused:. I will test a few grains to see if I can tolerated and then build it to 1 tsp a day
