Looks good to me since the only ingredient is "Ingredients: Vitis Vinifera". :D

ETA: "Grapeseed Oil (Vitus vinifera)
rich in vitamins, minerals and linoleic acid
light penetrating oil great for massage oils
use in creams, lotions and balms.
thin but leaves a glossy film on the skin.
may go rancid quickly
gentle, non-greasy, lightweight oil that absorbs into the skin quickly
believed to have skin cell regenerative properties
good in massage oils for those whose skin does not seem to absorb easily
can be somewhat comedogenic, but some say does not aggravate acne
promotes healthy hair; used in conjunction with jojoba oil and essential oils as an anti-hair loss massage
has good slippage for detangling hair
shelf life 1 yr" ( Carrier Oil Comparison (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=66))

I have used this on my hair before and I also got it at Walgreens. I have found coconut oil is better for me but I love grapeseed on my face! My mom and I both use it.

I say go for it! It's a polyunsaturated oil that won't exactly absorb into the shaft of the hair, but rather will seal in the moisture that's already present in the shaft, like jojoba oil. It could be a great fit! :)

Since it goes rancid rapidly, keep it in the refrigerator.

Anyone know if castor goes bad quickly?

FWIW I find grapeseed great as a carrier oil for diluting other things because it is so light. By itself, it seems not to do much for my hair, but I mix it with castor oil for a scalp rub and it's fantastic.

That article I liked earlier says "shelf life indefinite" for Castor oil, so my guess is that you don't have to worry about it. :D

ETA: Just kidding I found an article online that says: "Shelf life: Castor oil is slow to go rancid; users can expect a shelf life of 6 Months to 1 Year with proper storage conditions (cool, out of direct sunlight). Refrigeration after opening is recommended." (link to article (http://www.arganoilandmore.com/Castor-Oil-p/casusp08.htm))
