I was wondering if anyone had ever tried to put baby food bananas in instead of whole bananas? I thought it might make a really smooth consistency, just wondering if anyone had tried.

It would be a much smoother consistency, but may contain cornstarch and I don't know if that would cause it to work differently. Mahars March 12th, 2008, 08:59 PM Yes it was recommended on the old Caramel Treatment thread as a good alternative to bananas. I think the advantage is that it's smoother and therefore more easy to apply and wash out. addikted March 19th, 2008, 06:43 PM I do! Much less messy in my opinion, I get the organic baby food and in the ingredient list, it only has banana. nappywomyn April 3rd, 2008, 01:30 PM I've used baby food - it has bananas and citric acid in it - that's it. It works wonderfully! ilovemycop April 3rd, 2008, 05:13 PM yea! I was just going to look for the Caramel Treatment thread to post this exact question. How many jars did you use?I have stage 1 food btw. birdiefu April 3rd, 2008, 05:55 PM I know people have used it with good results. Try to find some with the least extra ingredients- I think the organic baby foods probably have less extra stuff. I like Earth's Best. If you do use whole bananas, make sure you puree the heck out of them!! If tiny banana bits remain, they can be very hard to get out, and can get all stinky in your hair...quite a few forum members have had that experience. I wish I could link to one of the threads on the old board. I forget who it was, but one of the unfortunates that had a horrid banana experience made up the most amusing little banana cartoon thing that said.. 'bananas belong in my tummy, not on my hair!'... or something like that. To reiterate- baby food bananas are good or *well pureed/liquidated* whole bananas. nappywomyn April 3rd, 2008, 09:30 PM yea! I used the 3.5 oz size, and used 1/4 cup of each oil with it..... |
