I'm sure there was a thread somewhere, but I couldn't find it :)

My hair has two very prominent layers. One layer is APL and the other is SL.
Does anyone have any hair style suggestions for these types of hair. I can't really braid it because of the two layers. I am working on growing them to the same length but can't handle having shorter hair at the moment :)

Any updo suggestions would be great. Also, my hair is very, very delicate. It will split just touching it. :(

What do you do with your hair? Thanks for the suggestions!

If your hair is APL in length with layers you should be able to do the split bun http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppzJDJ9RNmo i wore this from APL onwards.

Hi, and welcome!

Is Calling all who are growing shoulder to APL! (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=33961) the thread you're looking for? You may find Hairstick updo's for APL hair? (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=67136), and and there are many others.

I've got layered hair as well, and the longest quite thin layer is about one inch longer than APL, the shortest is just about to meet shoulder lenght. The video How to make an asian hair bun with a chopstick.... (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-Meh8Swh38&playnext=1&list=PL60FD67C453B4A2A0) helped a lot in the beginning. A French twist may be possible as well, because all the layers are inside of the roll although you may need some practice to tuck the ends. There's much more - enjoy!

you can try french braids, buns, french twists, half up half down.

I second French twists. Its an elegant updo but it will protect your ends so they will be less likely to split. Even with shorter hair I have found that they hold very well with a ficcare.

As of braids, I previously forgot to suggest Herringbone braids. For my very layered hair that one works much better than French braids. I tried it due to the Hairstyle of the month: Herringbone braid(s) (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=64800) thread for the very first time, love it now and usually wear it at night.

I love this asian chopstick updo since I got to APL.

The girl in the video has lots of layers, so I guess it should be no problem for you to wear this updo :)

Here ist another video of the updo, just with longer hair. You can probably see better, how to twist the hair (it's a bit difficult in the first video)

I think it's a very cute every day hairstyle.
 And very easy & quick.
