Hey,

So I'm interested in buying some cassia to try after lots of research, and after a browse on the internet and on here too, I've found a few different online stores that sell it in the UK. However, their prices are dramatically different from one another.

(I'm not interested in buying 1kg of Cassia- that's way too much. I'm just using it for examples)

The cheapest place I've found is a company called Bristol Botanicals, which sell up to 1kg of Cassia Auriculata for only £6.53.

Then I have also seen Henna Boy, where they sell 1kg of Cassia Obovata for £30.87.

I don't want to spend a huge amount of money on buying products for my hair, but does anyone have experience with either of these stores? What's the quality like in comparison to the price? There are also a few others I have seen too, such as The Spice Works (£16.48 for 1kg). I think there was more too, but I can't remember them now.

Being new to this, I have no idea how much is too much to spend and how possible it is for the quality of the product to vary.

Just any advice on where to buy and what to look out for in sellers would be fantastic.

Thanks. :)

I've been very pleased with the cassia from hennaboy, and I don't have a problem with their prices. 4,3 pounds for 100 grams isn't that much I'd say, and that's all I need for a cassia treatment for my BSL-length hair each month. I don't think you necessarily need to order a kilo at a time, but it does look cheaper that way.

... and I don't think the cheap one is the one you need. It should be Cassia Obovata.

When I looked into this (disclaimer I never actually bought any!) a few searches bought up that some people had had a few problems with henna boy and not getting their purchases. Renaissance henna gets lots of good reviews but is considerably more expensive. Anita Grant also sells it by the 100g, again more expensive that Henna Boy but I have used Anita Grant for other purchases and can say that she she very good customer service. Anita Grant also mentioned that about 30g is enough for shoulder length curly hair - just an an estimate for how much you my need at a time.

I've always used Hennaboy (for both henna and cassia), and always had good service from them.

I brought cassia from them though never got around to using it. I have brought other herbs and essential oils from their shop though and they have a good reputation for the quality of the herbs they sell.
For those that live in London their shop is worth a visit, it's in Elephant and Castle and is divided into two shops. The one next door sells the health foods and is a treasure chest of oils etc.
