I was surfing around for sulfate free natural shampoos and came across a Swedish unknown (to me) brand. Focusing on Neem-products.
The ingredients:

De-ionized water, reetha (soap nut), henna, coconut oil, bhringraj, shikakai, sesame oil, neem oil

I don't see any particular conservation ingredient. I wonder how long life this product has. I'll probably store it in the fridge.

Oh and a fun thing: The shampoo bottle is 250 ml for 125 SEK (~18 USD). But they're selling a horse-shampoo with identical ingredient list but twice the size, 500 ml, for 149 SEK (~21 USD). If I buy it, I'm definitely getting the horse one. I wonder how the boyfriend will react...

Any product with water in it and most without needs to be preserved.

It depends on what company is making this and whether they know what they are doing, no matter how tempting the marketing looks.

Yeah, that's what worries me. I wonder if I could add some kind of preservative myself. :hmm:

It needs to be done with exact knowledge of the ingredients and the amount of water etc. etc.

If the company in question is not doing the basics, can you really trust them on the quality of the ingredients?

I would pass on this one unless you contact them and get an explanation. It may be just a case of them not doing full disclosure of the ingredients.

I've mailed them and awaiting reply. I do suspect that they're not providing the full ingredient list, especially when looking at other products like the body wash, which got 3 preservatives.
All I can do now is wait.

Thanks for your replies. :)

You are most welcome!

It may just be an oversight on their part.

Speaking of the devil, I just got a reply from them. They're saying that the product doesn't contain water. Now I'm utterly confused! :?

I replied and asked for a clarification of the ingredient list.

Okaaay... New email from them, which made me even more confused. Now they claim that, yes, there is water in it, but only a tiiiny bit. Nothing about the rest of the ingredient list. :justy:

One more email. If I don't get the complete ingredient list by their next reply, I'm skipping this! Grr.

I agree! If they do not know their own product well it is not a good sign at all.

I'm kind of glad you posted this because I thought the site sounded familiar so I went through my bookmarks and found out I had it favorited because I wanted to buy from them too. Now I'm not so sure anymore >_> Really glad I found this thread :)

I agree with the advice to be cautious. To be honest given the communication you have already received and them one minute saying it has water in, then denying it, then changing their minds again i wouldn't trust any ingredients list they give you now.

Pity, it sounded good but if they can't seem to work out what is actually in their product....even an ingredient as simple as water then i'd wonder what else they might not tell you is in it. I'd also question their competence in formulating products generally.

It does not sound as if they are making the product but perhaps buying it (as a base) and adding to it possibly or whoever is replying by email is not well educated on the product.

Any way you look at it, this does not bode well for customer confidence. It is all saying to me that there is a lack of the things I look for before buying from a vendor. Trust is a big one.

The products may be fine. I am not confident in the apparent lack of product knowledge.

So it's been a week with no reply from them regarding the INCI list. I think they can consider me as not a future customer.

Totte, I'm glad you found this thread then before buying! :D Maybe they'll answer if you contact them about it as well? Customer pressure ;)
