Sorry if this was supposed to be in ktani's honey thread, but I thought that one was only for honey lightening...
A while back, I tried adding some honey to my leave-in conditioner, and that's the last time I've used it outside of a SMT. It turned out horrible. The thing is, though, I've read so many times that honey is a humectant, and I like the moisturizing a SMT gives, but I feel like it's a lot of work to do that every time I wash my hair!
So! If anyone has any advice to offer, I would be grateful. Do you add a little honey to your conditioner/shampoo/whatever every time you wash your hair? What ratio of conditioner to honey do you do? Does honey work well with your CO routine, if you do one?
Thanks!! :D

I have added honey to my CO wash on many occasions with wonderful results. I usually use a 1:4 ratio for honey:conditioner. Come to think of it, I haven't done this in a while, I should do it again soon! I think you could do it with every wash, I don't think it would do any harm.

Thank you for the reply, liagibba! I will add a little bit to my final condition when I CO next. Hoping to improve moisture retention :D

I sometimes pour some into my hands, rub them together and smooth on my canopy after shampooing and conditioning, leave for a few minutes and rinse. Its not a bit sticky and leaves hair shiny and frizz free.

Yes. I add some into the conditioner bottle (usually about 1 TBSP to a 13 oz or 384 ML bottle of conditioner). I feel it takes the moisture from the shower and puts it into my hair. I like it.

I use it like Jojo does.:) I have a bottle in the shower and I put it in my hair like conditioner then rinse out. You can also do this with molasses (if you have dark hair), but I haven't tried it .

I use honey mixed with water as a final rinse, especially when i go WO, is one of the few things that works well on my hair, leaving it really soft.
However i can't use honey as a leave in, i need to rinse it out very well or my hair will most likely clump together and feel a bit "sticky", not smooth at all.

I use honey in my leave-in conditioner mix. Just a teaspoon though. And I mix it with a lot of AVG, conditioner, Tea Tree (EO), Palmarosa (EO), Camelia Oil, Amla oil, and distilled water. Also, I know this is strange, but I use it to get my eyebrows to keep the shape I like. I use an art paint brush and dab a little here and there to get great brow shape, and they stay that way. You have to be careful, because you don't want a sticky eyebrow mess so use a little bit and let it dry. It's weird, I know, but I have unruly grandpa eyebrows!
