In an order of Lush's Caca Noir. I'm a tad-wee-bit nervous, but I'm going to try it (after a hairball test, of course).
YAY! I'm gonna be a hennindigo head! :cheese:

Yay! I had a lot of fun with Lush's Cacas. (Tried them all except the Noir.)
Tip! Grind it (the amount of cubes you'll use) in a blender/magic bullet instead of crushing or grating it by hand. It's so fast and easy! Leaves it a nice fluffy powder. Just don't over blend or the butter will melt a little.

Can't wait to see the result!
And I second Gabriel's advice to grind it. It will really simplify things.

When do you plan to do it? Will you post pics? I'm so excited to try henna to improve my hair condition, but I don't know whether to go red or stick to dark....

i have tried brun and marron and loved them, made my hair so shiny and the colour was lovely faded a tad but stuck around! just done a traditional red henna and love it. My hair feels so much bouncier but condition wise the same as Lush, though I did add argan oil and irish moss which they put in the lush one! dont forget photos x

I'm thinking about trying this, so post pictures if you can! I am trying to grow my colored ends out, but I dislike my natural color. I'd love to see what this looks like :)

Hey guys. Tried the henna and honestly wasn't very pleased with the results. It didn't cover my grays and the indigo completely washed out. For $35 and all the time I invested - it just wasn't worth it :( :(
I know I'd probably have different results from using pure powder instead of Lush, but not sure I'm going to go that route at all.
:(

That sucks, Quixotica. Strangely, I've noticed fading for the first time since using Lush, just my grays.
I'm actually going to hendigo this weekend with the powders. I'll let you know how it turns out.

When I used Lush, I also noticed a lot of fading (and I already had hennaed hair from powder)...
Henna powder does not fade on me, but indigo always does a little (not like lush)

I'm sorry :(
I had a bad experience with Lush fading and not being at all dark enough the last time I used it too.
If you don't want to go the way of powders, my friend tried the Surya henna from a tube thing (bought it at Whole Foods, but pretty sure you can find it elsewhere) and it worked really well. Easy to apply, and a wide range of darker colours than just red. Also, it supposedly washes out if you don't like it.
Personally, I stick with the powdered stuff because I don't see fading usually with it -- but YMMV.
