I am thinking of trying out the CO method but the thing is, is I'm worried about CO'ing only when I do a heavy oiling to my hair every week whenever I wash it. Will the oil come out without shampooing it out?

I find CO washing gets prepoo oil out better.

I've always found conditioner is far better than shampoo for removing oils so you shouldn't have any problems with CO. When I used to do CO and did a heavy oiling I'd just the conditioner in for longer before rinsing making sure I massaged it in really well. Then I might do a second round of conditioner if I thought I hadn't got all the oil out.
Good luck :) hope this helps.

I love to do a heavy oiling and cover with conditioner one hour before washing out. It feels LUXURIOUS. You can always apply more conditioner if your hair is too oily after initial wash.

Here is a tip.......when you CO after a heavy oiling, put the conditioner on and work it in BEFORE wetting your hair.....works so much better this way!

I do an ACV rinse afterwards and that seems to help.

CO-ing gets light oiling out just fine but I can never manage to get heavy oilings out with just conditioner. I always need a hefty amount of shampoo to do the trick.

I find it works with coconut and jojoba oil but not olive oil.

I get all kinds of oils out really easily with CO :)

I've never had a problem. I usually use olive oil and castor oil for deep oilings and lately i've been CO'ing twice just to make sure it's all out. But if I do wash properly (massage in and let sit) then it always comes out of my hair.

I did a HEAVY coconut oiling a few days ago (I mean REALLY heavy, probably used 1/3 of a cup (80ml) or so) and got it out with nothing but conditioner.

I've oiled before a CO wash, and left other stuff in my hair and the conditioner has always worked well to get everything clean. Except for olive oil, but olive oil is waaaaaayyyyy too heavy for my hair and I even have a hard time shampooing it out.

If the oil doesn't come out don't be discouraged. Sometimes I have to leave the conditioner on for an hour to get my hair completely clean.

Thanks very much everyone! :) although I still have a little bit of oil in but that shouldn't be too much of a problem I think :P
