Ok, so I'm sitting here with lush caca rouge in my hair, with cling film over the top and lots of green goo dripping down my face.
Please please tell me the green is normal.... I've had it on for 2 hours now and am getting ever so slightly nervous :o
Should I wash out? Is this normal?

Lush caca rouge gives a very good colour, and the cocoa butter is wonderful for condition, it's pretty reliable stuff. Let us know how it turns out. In all honesty, I'm sure it's fine. :)

Thanks to all, it's been 4 hours.... Will try and hold out for another hour...
My hair is naturally dark brown (the root 1-2 inches), but the rest of my hair is a faded Medium brown... Can't wait to see the results... Must try and hold out..... Desperate to rinse... :)

Wow... I am head over heels in love with henna....
The shine, the colour, the condition..... This is definitely going to be a lifelong marriage. I have NEVER had chemical dye this beautiful.....
My only regret is I should have done it years ago....

Pics as soon as Hubby gets home.... I was so embarrassed at the state of my hair before (long story, but very damaged hair with extensions, bleach, numerous dye jobs, flat iron every day.... You get the picture) meant I never allowed anyone to take photos of my ravaged hair...... I wish I had now as my hair has gone from feeling 'normal' after following all the advice and complete babying of hair (and a huge chop) to now, post- henna, feeling great.....
So happy I took the plunge :cheese:

I'm so happy for you!*hugs*
My first so-called 'henna' experience was with a Romanian brand of henna, the shade was "dark chestnut", and besides the fact that it looked green and decently sifted, I had NO idea what was in it. I figured I'll bite the bullet, so I made a paste with lemon juice, let it release, then gooped it all on my hair. Sat for two hours, wasting time on the internet, reading about bad henna experiences. I expected the water to run red, or orange-y, but it ran pond-green for some good minutes. I've never been happier to see gold reflects in my wet hair^.^
Then I became confident, bought another brand of henna(red, this time) and mixed equal ammounts of the "hennas", expecting a redder chestnut. ORANGE FURY. My mother didn't talk to me for days on end.Well, except for threats of cutting my hair while I'm sleeping.

I bet it was shiny, healthy-looking orange though?
Dyefree, I'm glad you like your hennaed hair.

Very shiny and healthy-looking, which made it even more noticeable!:grin:Thus, my French notebook got itself marked with the words "Owned by Carrottop", and a glorious drawing of a carrot, made by a classmate.
Then I put on some more chestnut "henna", and then some more auburn-now I'm more into the red spectrum, still orange-y in some lights though.
