I've read that heat styling your hair can make the henna darken, but I was wondering if hot water washing or hot temperatures in the summertime will darken it, too? I like the color I have now, so want to avoid getting the henna over-heated. :p

I'd like to know this too, I'm getting ready to start my first ever henna treatment soon, and I like to straighten my hair every so often.
I'll be back here to see answers. (:

I'd asked the same question about a year ago here (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=39598) - I looooove long, hot showers in winter, and had the same concern you do. I think the concensus was that after it oxidizes you're ok, but use lukewarm to cool water until then :)

Thanks, CrisDee! Then I won't worry so much about the water. Maybe I'll try to keep out of the sun so much in the summer though. It can get pretty brutal here for lengthy periods sometimes.
