I hear yemen henna and Dark of the Moon Henna (http://www.mehandi.com/shop/hairhenna.html) gives a true red result and it is body quality henna which is the best quality. All other BAQ henna give orangy results, unless... For redder results with BAQ henna you can mix it with different stuff like paprika (I have some pics of comparison between just henna and paprika+henna in my album).
Like Dolly said hennahut (http://www.hennahut.com/hair_dye) has some pre-mixed hennas if you don't want to try your own mix, that way you can find your own shade.
Lush (http://www.lushusa.com/shop/products/haircare/henna-hair-dyes/) also has some pre-mixed hennas.
Good luck on your henna journey! Henna rules lol. :D

*edit* Sorry I noticed you can't see albums yet. Here are the pics:

Very nice results Roscata, really notice the difference. Your hair has loads of shine and looks and very healthy. How many days or weeks does the color from paprika last? TIA :)

Your without-paprika photo looks like the flash wasn't on ... the hair isn't shining like it would be with flash, and the skin tone is quite different.

Well, I had a dyed red that was two-toned (purely by accident).....I used Ion Color Corrector, and it removed the permanent dye but left some of the demi-permanent color that was in the bottom half. When I used the color corrector, the top part of my hair was light brown with a slight orange tint, bottom was med reddish brown. I used Red from Henna Hut over it. My avatar pic is after 3 whole-head apps to even out the two colors.....it only looks like that in bright light. In regular lighting it looks like med/dark brown with a red hint.

Thank you! :)
The paprika lasted about a month and a half, it's a bit washed out now. But, I mixed in the paprika after the henna color developed overnight because I forgot, so that might be a factor, I'm not sure.

I know. :( I don't have any flash photos of my non paprika henna. But for the record my hair looked slightly orange with just henna and with paprika it was the deep red you see in the flash photo.

Jamilla from the indian store definitely has a redder tone than the Reshma I've gotten in the past. I just used it yesterday and I miss the orange!!! I guess it is what you get used to.

The Jamilla was much finer sift and easier to apply and wash out though. But I think I prefer the warmer color the Reshma gives my hair - the Jamilla made it a darker red and it seems a 'cooler' red to me.

I could even see the difference when I mixed it up and it was ready to apply - the Jamilla looked much darker orange rusty green (if you know what i mean lol) and less orange green already... the Reshma looks kind of a orange green...

Thank you Roscata- a month and half is not too bad and I love the deep red, or cherry red results so I will have to remember to try little paprika. I already add tea made from hisbiscus leaves, black coffee, dark cherry juice, and sometimes red wine, I'm liking the results. Thanks again. :)
