Now I know there are shampoos, conditioners and lotions and the actual Aloe Vera gel itself. Lately for my dry scalp, I been applying this gel on my scalp (only the scalp). Now my question is, how often to apply it? because it does help with my problem but I don't know how often is too often. So far i just put a little bit where the problem area is every other day, or I could just put it on the whole scalp to set over night and wash it out in the morning. Am I doing too much or does that seem ok? :)

Is it working so far? I think everyone will have different results with different uses and frequencies, so basically if what you're doing is giving you results you like, then you're doing it right. :) You can always experiment with different ways and if it works great! If it doesn't, go back to what you were doing and try something else. :D

I've only ever used aloe as a substitute for styling gel, although some of the products that I buy have it. My scalp and hair are very healthy (as long as you don't look too close at my ends).

I personally use it every other day, after I CWC my hair. I'm using it for a different purpose than you (to calm flyaways & condition my hair), but since it doesn't look greasy after application (provided you brush or comb it out so the strands aren't sticking together), I would think you could apply it to your scalp daily if you wanted. I personally don't wash it out until the next shampoo, and then I apply it again immediately afterwards to damp hair & don't rinse it out. Obviously, if you are noticing any negative effects, you should lessen the frequency of application, but pure aloe vera gel is about as safe as you can get (some people even eat it for health).

I use a pure aloe vera extract from Aubrey Organics, since it's the extract it's almost like water looks-wise and consistency-wise, so it's really easy to put into a mister bottle or to mix with other concoctions. I also use it on my face. Hope that helps!
