Hey everyone! :)

I did my first EVOO treatment tonight.. I put the oil in my hair (enough to kind of soak it), put my hair in a bun, and let it sit in my hair for about an hour and 1/2. I put conditioner in my hair in the tub and let it sit again for about 30 minutes, then rinsed and shampooed (I hadn't shampooed in 4 days, eek!) and conditioned again. I rinsed with cold water, and my hair did have a lot more body, softness, fullness, and curls when it dried. The only problem is that when I went to brush it, it was almost like it was stuck together in chucks. I had to comb it out and mist my hair down with some conditioner/water mix to get the brush through it. I braided it afterwards and haven't messed with it since. Does anyone have any idea why my hair might have turned out 'sticky' like it did? Did I not rinse enough, is my hair not used to EVOO, did I use too much, did I not rinse correctly, or is my hair just not a friend of olive oil? If anyone has had this experience or could provide some insight, it would be really appreciated!! :cheese: Thanks!

what do you mean by sticky ?
was it knoted ?
maybe the manipulation made some knots ?

did it feel oily, after drying ? coated in something ?

Maybe sticky wasn't the best word to describe it.. usually my brush goes through my hair very easily, but tonight it was harder to get it through and it was like my hair was really slick but tangled. I'm not quite sure how to describe it..

I think you didnt rinsed out the conditioner good enough,i have this too alot of times.
The next wash i always have to clarify or it will stay sticky and the brush will not get through

I think you might have used too much olive oil! I only use about a tablespoon and I use it with honey. I might put in about a teaspoon of coconut oil or argan oil as well, but if you use too much it will make your hair clump together because it will be hard to wash out.

Thanks everyone for responding. I did a CWC last night and my hair wasn't sticky any more.. I'll have to experiment again to see what works for me. Thanks again for replying =)
