hey guys,
I used chemical dyes for six years of my life, and I died it two colours:

It's a little hard to see, but the black and red mix together. This is a result of parting my hair on a diagonal while doing the dying, and then switching back to my natural straight, slightly-off-centre part when I was done.
My question is: Is this possible doing henna/indigo? since you have to wrap it up, is it possible to only dye part of your head? Does anyone have any tips?
TIA

If your hair is as dark as in the picture, henna or indigo won't have too much of an effect. Indigo will make the red parts of your hair go dark, and henna will not show up very well at all with dark hair. You may want to consider lifting your current colour a bit, if you want decent 2-tone results from henna and indigo, since your starting hair so so dark...

It seems plausible that you could do this with henna and indigo, as a two-step. You'd probably henna everything first, then apply indigo to the dark parts once you've rinsed the henna.
Do realize that henna is really difficult to remove, and indigo normally goes green if you try to remove it. So if you go the henna/indigo route, you'll pretty much be stuck with this look or dyed all dark until you can grow it out/cut it off.

When I first started using henna, I just did the underlayers (basically from ear to ear in the back) and left the top part virgin. I just put the stuff I didn't want dyed up in a secure bun well up on the top of my head and made sure to stay within the part line so I wouldn't end up with blotchies. Worked just fine, and at times I have considered growing out some of my henna'd hair to look like 'highlights' of my virgin blonde color while leaving the bulk of my hair henna red.

no, sorry, you misunderstand, that is what my hair looked like when it was dyed. This is what it looks like right now/naturally (I was at my first ever rocky horror show, so forgive the red lipstick lol):

@anje in terms of going green, from the research I've done it said that as long as you make sure to have PURE henna/indigo/cassia/etc, you should be fine. Is that not true then? Maybe it only meant for henna?

If I remember correctly, indigo turns green when you try to bleach it out, even if it is pure.
Though I think what you're going for should be doable, but may be very tricky to apply just right.

Well, with the pure stuff, you won't have any reactions with other stuff in your hair giving accidental green results. However, even pure indigo will go greenish if you bleach it. Search around for indigo removal before you actually try it.
