I'm interested to see what herbs/teas could be used for a simple cleansing & conditioning routine.
Does such a thing exist? If so, what do you use and where could the ingredients be found?
I would love to 'experiment' a bit with more natural products to see if I could find something that could make my scalp/hair happy but I also need some type of softening/detangling abilities.
I've read back through this section of the forum but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. So any help/suggestions/links would be greatly appreciated!!:flower:

Peppermint tea? Do you have a certain brand that you use, or do you just buy peppermint tea bags? If using bags how many and for how long do you steep them?
I know I love the cooling feeling of tea tree oil shampoos, although I can't use them very often because they're so drying but again it could also be some of the other ingredients that are in the shampoo?
Peppermint tea sounds wonderful! Thank-you for sharing this suggestion.:flower:

This article (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=95) could also be helpful with cleansing.
When it comes to conditioning these 3 links might help:

Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you for sharing these links. I've saved them all to my favorites...there is a wealth of info. in them.:flowers:
I like the idea of using soapnuts, especially as a 'first-timer' with using natural products and if for some reason they don't work on my hair, I can always use them to do my laundry!:p

I'm sorry the soapnuts didn't work. Maybe this will help.: Indian Herbs for Hair Care (http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/vbjournal.php?do=article&articleid=3)
You're welcome! Here to help. :)

You all beat me to it! Two of the mentioned articles are linked in my siggy. Indian herbs are just about as easy to get as the Western herbs, and I think more effective, so don't let that intimidate you. All are available of course online. :)
Best of luck.

Oh no...I haven't tried the soapnuts yet. I was just stating that if they *didn't* end up working for my hair then I could always just use them for laundry purposes, so that way I won't feel like I've made a purchase for nothing.;)
Sorry for the confusing way that I wrote that.
Thank-you so much for taking the time to post the link for the Indian Herb Care, I'll defiantely give that read as well. :flower:
