I'm not sure if this would be beneficial for those with straight hair, but maybe.
Forgive me if this has been posted before.
I like to mix equal parts of honey and olive oil (about 1-2 tablespoons of each, depending on how much you need) and heat them up in the microwave for about 5 seconds. I apply it to dry hair so that I can see where I have added it already. I leave my hair down with a towel around my shoulders. Use caution because if you wrap your hair in a towel, it will get stuck to it. After about 30 minutes, I jump in the shower and shampoo/condition. I then style as usual. This makes my curls hydrated without making them droopy or greasy. I ABSOLUTELY love it. I do it about once a week.
Good luck if you try it! :D I promise you won't be disappointed.

Yea I use this too I have to use a half cup of honey and a half cup of olive oil. It makes my hair feel like silk after I use this.

I've noticed that honey accentuates my curls a lot, even after a henna. That recipe sounds great!

I added in a little of my Argan Oil (I use Healthy Sexy Hair, it's full of cones, but my hair doesn't seem to mind) and it gave me gorgeous curls, but it also enabled me to have second day curls! Woop!

I'm going to try this over the weekend with camellia oil instead of EVOO. My ends are a little fried, I've been meaning to do a SMT anyway.

Does it leave you with velcro ends at all? The last time I put honey in my hair it took 3 rinses and straight vitamin e oil to un-velcro my ends. I would love for it to work for me! My hair is disagreeable in general.

I went ahead and tried it two days ago since I was reading the thread an hour before having to wash my hair.
Since olive oil has proved too heavy for me in the past I mixed it with extra virgin coconut oil.Since we were at 15C the coconut oil was solid so I put the mix in a warm oven for a few minutes.
The resulting mix smelt disgusting LOL...dont know why heating them together gently would cause such a pong. But since the items were both fresh I went ahead and put it on my hair anyway.Left it 30 mins and washed out.It didnt go on too evenly cos I was kinda scared of getting every single strand of hair covered in sticky honey but I got quite a bit on.
Anyway it did make my 2a/b hair regain the whorls quite significantly.I found that I did need to wash my hair by day 2 cos it was looking lank (but still keeping the curls ) but after the next wash my hair was still more whorly and very soft and moisturised still.
Only downside was that it seems to have faded my henna a bit and made it lighter but thats no problem really cos my roots need doing soon so I need to henna again anyway.
Will definitely try this recipe again, maybe once a month or so.

This may have worked for me. My hair does seem to have a more pronounced curl. I usually use coconut oil, but need to try different to see if it likes another oil better.
Thanks.

Or aloe. Hmmm, SMT doesn't seem to work for me (I'm thinking it is the aloe). I might give this one a go and see if it works better. Thanks for the recipe!

I'm going to try this really soon! But is it hard to get out of your hair?

Its not hard to get it out of your hair as long as you shampoo.
It has never dried my hair out. It makes my curls more pronounced and moisturized, I also add some coconut oil now and maybe argan oil.
