I bought Dove's "heat protection" spray (dark blue bottle) the other day. No I don't intend to get out that curling iron I've got stashed away ;) but I bought it because I was curious if it would make for a good leave in conditioner for the summer months. Anywho, I found that it works just like a hairspray  especially when used on dry hair. It results in a somewhat 'crunchy' feel but without the stickyness and alchohol that you get with regular hairsprays. My updos have been frizz free all day long with this stuff. :D Just thought I'd share my discovery.

Hmmmm. Sounds pretty cool. So strange that it works like a hairspray when it's supposed to be for heat protection. Thanks for the heads up!

Probably there are ingredients in it that should both protect hair from the heat of a styling tool and work as a holding spray, to hold the intended style.
