Hi,
just wondering if I can use acv or citric acid rinses while I have henna in my hair.
I put the henna in today and am very happy with it, but it feels like my hair has build up or excess henna.
How should I deal with this??
thanks
Kate

I don't know anything about citric acid personally, but I have hennaed hair and I vinegar rinse it all the time.

I don't know what you mean by excess henna. It didn't all get rinsed out?

I use henna and I use a vinegar rinse with every wash, which hasn't been a problem.

If you're talking about the strange, almost coated feeling right after a henna application, though, I get that every time I henna and it slowly goes away over the first couple days. I seem to remember it lasting a bit longer the first time I used henna. Maybe a week. I don't know what causes it, but it's not permanent and I've never had to do anything other than follow my normal routine for it to fade.

My hair often feels like that after I henna. It goes away for me after a couple of washings. I have used vinegar rinses with no problems at all. :)

Vinegar is partly used to seal the cuticle down - hence shine. So, no problems with your henna: many hennaheads finish with vinegar.

I use an ACV rinse after every wash, and I've been henna-ing for a little over a year. :)

I use white vinegar AND citric acid in my rinses. I have less henna bleed when I do my rinse than I do if I skip it :)
