So here it is now. I took these this morning (April 30th) and my henna was done late on the night of April 26th.

This is my hair in the same light as all the other pictures I took, but I have realized, the 'actual' colour is not that which is closet to the light, but that on the bottom half of my hair. It *is* darker on top, but not really orange like pics show:

This is in natural light:

Everyone at work- who all just saw it for the first time yesterday, didn't even say anything until I said they didn't notice and they said it is because my hair still has all my normal real highlights, it just looked more red, so they thought maybe they were imagining it and that my hair was just more red than they realized! lol

I am quite happy with it- and I shouldn't have too much of an issue with roots. I am a little worried how to keep this colour though without darkening it or anything!

That looks very nice, you have such pretty hair.

No need to worry, just touch up your roots with the same mix, and only refresh your length w/a weaker mix (containing even less henna) if it has faded. If you do that, you shouldn't have any darkening. Be careful when you do root touchups not to overlap onto previously hennaed areas. If you go longer between root applications (which you should be able to with the subtle difference you achieved) not overlapping shouldn't be too difficult.

LOL! Feeling a little better now about my six months of research. "I just need a few more test strands to make sure and then I'll do it. No, that's not right, gotta try a few more things. Gotta make sure of such-and-such. No, Yemen. No, Pakistani. No, Yemen. No, Rajasthani. No, Yemen and Cassia. No....." :scared:
