I'd been using Jamilla since i started using henna about a year ago. Not the special stock but the one for hair, in the clear cellophane on the inside of the box. I had good results, though the color could be sparodic. Sometimes it wouldnt color my roots, sometimes it would........ and sometimes it would be a bit orangy.

Well........ as luck would have it my usual supplier ran out of my stuff, so instead, on a what the heck basis i bought half a kilo of Rajithani Henna.

Oh my oh my! The texture was like baby powder, i'm used to a rough grainy texture. The mix was almost gelatenous smooth, not like mud. And it didn't smell when on like old wet hay, but fresh sweet hay......... since i hate the smell of henna and try to disguise it, this was a bonus.

The minute i put it on my head, it started staining my SKIN!...... I've never had that happen before. Two hours later i rinsed, and its an amazing deep rich red. Rinsed out like a charm, and though I had the usual after henna dryness, its nothing like what i'm used to.

I'm a convert to this kind of henna now, w00t!

Sounds like a great experience with a new henna brand. :)

Can you post a photo?

Rajasthani is all I use now. I experimented with a couple of others, but got mixed results. I had trouble with Jamila not staining at times too. Now I mix the henna and freeze it. The stain is even better this way. :) I find the Rajasthani to be much less orangey.

I've used lots of Rajasthani and love it. It usually has great dye and an awesome sift. Since that's what I've mostly used (that and Jamila and Moroccan), perhaps that's why I love the smell? It does smell sort of like sweet hay, but is something I identify as purely a henna smell.

After reading this thread, I put in an order for Rajasthani. I also bought a small henna flower lotion, so hopefully I can review that, also.

I am using Rajasthani also. I love the color and the stain is mighty mighty. I did some designs on my kids toes and wow is it dark. I bought it last month, monsoon 07?

Oh great, I am in for a treat when I henna again, I just got 2 kilos of the Rajasthani also, I had previously only used Jamila.

I am so glad I got it now, I was a bit apprehensive that it wouldn't be as good quality.

yay, I am so glad there are several good reviews!

I use it too, isn't it lovely? I bought a kilo from Henna Sooq and the quality is wonderful. I will have to buy more this summer.

I've not tried this one. Are you all talking about the most recent crop? Anybody able to compare it to the Yemen for me?
