I'm using my brothers computer and I'm sure when I shut down earlier I hit the log off button...

But when I got back on I was still logged into the forum.

Did I break it?

Come to think of it, I'm sure the same thing is going on with my computer too. I keep myself logged in on my laptop at home. If I'm subbing and can log on to the school internet with the teacher's laptop, I do it. I have to log in each time. I sign out at the end of the day. When I get home I don't have to log in again, I'm still "here". I don't type in the LHC addy in the address bar at school. I Google to get here. I thought I was leaving a less direct trail by doing that. Maybe not?

I think it is supposed to work that way - each computer, and computer program, logs on and off independantly. My personal computer is always logged in. If I use a school computer, I log in and out, but the home one stays on.

Plus, each web browser logs on separately - my Opera is logged in, but Firefox is logged out, on the same computer.

It is a matter of each computer program's cookies.
