As the title says I looking to see if I can get a certain red with henna. Frist some pictures:

This is my natural color:

For some reason I can't get the picture of my hair right after doing henna onto photobucket but it was very similar to this (only mine was more shiny, and not in a good way):

Oddly I couldn't stand that color on me but when I saw this picture I loved it. My mix was 2 bags of henna and 1 bag of cassia and that was left on for 2 hrs. Oh and this was the color I got one week after doing the henna after it had calmed down some.

After a month or so I'm left with this:

Now here are some examples of what I'd like:

What they all have in common is the dark auburn red. Do you think it's possible to get this? I'm also hoping this will look good on me. I have hazel eyes and fair skin (think Russian) with a pink/cool undertones.

perhaps your henna faded the first time, it's not unusuall at all. Do some strand tests with more henna (collected shed hair of course!) with different mixes and times and see what you'll get. (don't forget to wait for oxidation)

I agree with strand testing of course, but what is going to help get closer to those is probably going to be using it undiluted, and leaving it on longer.

The fading with cassia and henna will stop if you have enough buildup, and do it enough times. However, it sounds like you want something darker than that, so you may want to reduce the amount of cassia in your mix.

Of course you can get that colour, but henna is a bit of a trial and error method of colouring hair.
Maybe you could try to cut back on the cassia and add some ground coffee? Just be sure to do a stand test.

It's completely possible with hair like your's to get a darker red like that. Try the mixes at hennaforhair and talk to those in the henna thread to find a mix that might work. ^_^

I suspect you should be careful of going too warm with your henna, with you cool toned skin.
