I see that many of you are usinf henna, but what about purple hair? I'm using hair color (mm,sintetic or I don't know how else to call it) and it would be great for my hair to try something that is not so damaging :( Can you recommend me some natural hair color (purple ofc :D)? thnx :*

what's your starting color? When henna builds up on hair, on some people it gets dark burgundy and a bit purple, but not the same shade as you get with box dye.

Check out the article section and read Nightshade's article on herbal coloring. There's plenty of knwoledge on henna and also on how to push color into a certain shade!

I used a burgundy henna, that's a mix of lawsonia, alcanna and a violet root, I don't know the name in english (I'll search it soon)
it's Persian henna
after it I used indigo, that's similar to henna but blue.I found it as Black henna and it's a mix of indigo and lawsonia

you'll find some great tips on hennaforhair
there's also dafne's mix that gives violet shade ;)

oh, and one more question. Is there any special henna gloss or you're just adding something (in henna)? :S

lemon juice (two fruits for 150g oh henna) and hot water
for the indigo mix (150 g too) hot water with a teaspoon of salt for the first time
then just 100 of indigo with hot water and hand cream (you can use the conditioner you prefer)

Oh, when I'm already here, how exactly would one use blackberries, grapes, or red cabbage for dying hair? Should you cook it and soak the hair with the water, or make a paste or what?
Anbody successful?
TIA :)

I would recommend Elumen for purple hair before I'd recommend henna.

This.

It's really difficult to tell how henna will build up on your hair, even with strand testing. And even if you do get enough henna in your hair to look burgundy in some lights, you will always, always see some orange in the sun. Bright, carroty orange.

Yes, that is the dye, but I don't understand what you mean by that statement?

don't know about that
but if your hair is red bay/laurel will do the trick ;)
just put some leaves in hot water (like you're making a tea) and rinse you hair with that (after shampoo)

:)

well, we don't have this color in our stores
and I've seen that you're using some indian herbs for hair grow, and we don't have that either :(
so I have to try with henna that is available to me :)

Most of us order online.

Elumen is not available in stores. You can only get it online or have it put on by a hairdresser.
