worried about tub

My husband and I recently redid our bathroom. We had an acrylic tub installed. It cannot be scrubbed and must cleaned gently to avoid getting scratched. Should I worry about henna staining it? My husband would kill me if I wrecked it. Thanks.

You absolutely should worry. Henna stains everything it touches.

I've never had henna stain my tub, but I've never used an acrylic tub and don't know how they compare to other tub surfaces. I would be wary of using henna in a tub I couldn't scrub, just in case it does stain, because I have seen henna stain many surfaces.

Maybe you can apply the henna outside? It will make for easier clean up and no worries about the bathroom/tubby.

I would strongly recommend against hennaing in an acrylic tub. Henna won't stain enameled cast iron, but I have had amla stain a plastic shower curtain liner and silicone grout. I imagine henna would be much worse on plastic.

Good to know...I too have an acrylic tub. Henna has seriously crossed my mind, but...I just am not up for the commitment...and now the tub concern

It never crossed my mind to worry when I rinsed out my henna mermaid-style in my acrylic tub and rinsed some more in my acrylic shower. I had no stains, just a faint tub ring that rinsed off easily.

Forgot to say my acrylic tub and shower are 20 yrs old. I've also rinsed henna from my hair in my in-laws' much newer acrylic shower without a problem.

My experience has been much the same. I've henna-ed dozens of times and the tub has never stained.
