Indigo literally falling out?

Hi! I used 1/3 henna, 2/3 indigo last friday for about 2 hours in my hair. I've read posts where people say their hair doesn't hold indigo, that it falls right out. I've shampooed and conditioned twice since that night, and both times, my shampoo glops that hit the shower floor are greenish!

Aussie hair insurance shampoo and Aussie soften + protect conditioner. Yesterday I noticed a lot of red in the sun, wondering how red it'll be tomorrow!

After 6 days, is this normal? Or is the indigo literally falling out of my hair?

You will be seeing the hendgo wash out for a week or so, that is normal. For me, anyway? The color should settle within three days and you can see what you have!

I would love to have color like yours. You use 50/50 right? I might try that next. But I'll wait a few days, see if it fades more.

I always wait 24 hours before shampooing to make sure the indigo sticks well. Also, I include a splash of vinegar in the mix when I henndigo, it seems to help the indigo stick to my grays well.

You'll notice the water running bluish (or greenish maybe) the first shampoo or two afterward, that is pretty normal. The color should still stick very well though, especially after repeated applications.

It is very normal for henna'ed hair to appear red in the sun.
